TSc Texture Compression

Texture Compression is a very important aspect of computer graphics systems. Rendering and Processsing Images requires significant memory bandwidth. Compressing Images is of very high importance as it reduces the required bandwith and helps to utilise caches better. The Result if higher speed and lower power consumption as reducing the memory tranfers required reduces power consumption.

Compressing Gradients

TSc Texture compression is particularly efficient in compressing gradients, as you can see in the following grayscale gradient examples:
