Think Silicon @ the 28th International Symposium on Power and Timing Modeling, Optimization and Simulation (PATMOS2018)
Thursday 28 Jun 2018
Description
In our continuous effort to improve the strength of our display controllers and processors, Think Silicon and the University of Patras joined forces towards developing three content-aware categories of algorithms that take into account the color values of the output images and adjusts dynamically the backlight level of the LCD/TFT displays. The aim of the developed algorithms is to minimize the power consumption of the displays while simultaneously preserving the quality of the displayed content, utilizing global backlight dimming. The team consisted of Dr. Georgios Keramidas, Chief Scientific Officer of Think Silicon, Dr. George Theodoridis, Professor of the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering of the University of Patras, and two students of the aforementioned department, Mr. Konstantinos Oikonomou, and Mr. Orestis Theodorakopoulos.

This study will be presented in the 28th International Symposium on Power and Timing Modeling, Optimization and Simulation (PATMOS2018) to be held in Spain from 2-4 July 2018.
